Richard N. Drouin

North Port, FL--- Richard N. Drouin, 74, formerly of Gilford, NH, died at his home on January 16, 2005 in North Port, FL.

Mr. Drouin was born in Laconia, NH and was the son of Norman P. and Albina (Dumais) Drouin. He was an electrical contractor for over 40 years in the Lakes Region, and also served as a part time police officer and volunteer firefighter in Gilford, NH for many years. He served with the National Guard in Laconia, NH.

As an avid sportsman, he enjoyed skiing, hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Winnisquam, Lake Winnipesaukee and in Florida. Mr. Drouin was a member of the Belknap County Sportsman's Association, a lifetime member of The National Rifle Association, Laconia Elks Lodge and a long-standing member of the Sacred Heart Parish of Laconia, NH.

Mr. Drouin was known for his love and devotion to his wife, children and family. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jean M Drouin, four children, Thomas R. Drouin and his spouse Valerie of Gilford, NH; Kathryn A Owens, Naples, Florida; Cynthia M Wilson and her spouse Lee, of Lula, GA and James W. Drouin and his spouse Susan, of Gilford, NH. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Olivia Bartlett, Jacob Drouin, Dallas Seagroves, Kelly Seagroves and Alyssa Drouin, 2 great grand children, a brother Donald D. Drouin, a sister Anita (Drouin) Maheux and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial calling hours will held in the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 from 2PM-4PM and 7PM-9PM using the Carriage House entrance.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will held at Sacred Heart Church, Union Avenue, Laconia on Thursday, January 27, 2005 at 11AM.

Spring burial will be in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia, NH. Donations to the Covenant house or your local Red Cross in lieu of flowers would be welcomed.
