Arthur F. Solomon, Sr.

Gilford-----Arthur F. Solomon, Sr., 87, of 26 Blueberry Hill Lane, passed away at the Concord Hospital on Wednesday, February 10, 2010.

Mr. Solomon was born February 18, 1922 in Moultonboro, N.H., the son of the late James Nelson and Mary Ellen (Tongue) Solomon. On November 6, 1943, he married Beatrix H. Honeyman in Niagara Falls, New York. He graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine and was a professional civil engineer and President and co-owner of his own company, Bradley Corporation. He spoke before Congress for the American Builders Association serving as its vice president.

Mr. Solomon served in the U. S. Army Air Force during WWII in the South Pacific Theater.

Mr. Solomon was a member of the American Legion, a life member of the Moultonboro Lions Club, a member of the Moultonboro Historical Society and was a Mason for many years of the Blazing Star Eureka Lodge.

Mr. Solomon is survived by his wife, Beatrix H. (Honeyman) Solomon; a son, Robert A. Solomon; two daughters, Leslie Carroll and Suzanne Bourdess-Berkley; grandchildren, Andrew, Tristan and Trevor Solomon, Melinda Caggiano, Amanda Solomon, Matthan and Brittany Carroll and Kristen Cannon; several great grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Irvine, and nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, Mr. Solomon was predeceased by a son, Arthur F. Solomon, Jr.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 2:00PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Old North Main Street, Laconia, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Masonic Care Community, 2150 Bleecker St., Utica, New York 13501.
