John J. Morel Send a condolence note

Laconia-----John J. Morel, 53, of 15 South Street, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Tuesday, February 19, 2008.

      Mr. Morel was born October 10, 1954 in Laconia, N.H., the son of Aime A. and Katherine D. (Michaud) Morel. He was a lifelong resident of Laconia and was a 1973 graduate of Laconia High School.

      Mr. Morel was employed at New Hampshire Ball Bearing for seventeen years before retiring in 2003. He was formerly employed at Bergen-Paterson Pipe Support Corp. and Allen-Rogers.

      Mr. Morel was a member of the New Covenant Christian Church. He was a coach for the Laconia Little League and for the Lou Athanas Youth Basketball League for many years. He was a loving father and husband and enjoyed camping and coaching his kids in basketball and baseball.

      Mr. Morel is survived by his wife, Rhonda (Wheeler) Morel, of Laconia; two sons, Nicholas Scott Morel and Joshua Michael Morel, both of Laconia; four daughters, Jessica Lee Morel, Christy Lynn Morel, Heather Marie Sanchez and her husband, Mariano E. Sanchez, Jr. and Stephanie Ann Chaffee all of Laconia; two grandchildren, Logan Anthony Sanchez and Layla Elizabeth Sanchez, both of Laconia; two brothers, Rev. James Morel and Gary A. Morel, both of Laconia and four sisters, Cindy A. Gagne of Laconia, Sandra Rivest of Enfield, CT, Debbie Bobolia-Kessler of Laconia and Mary Vittum of Ashland. He was predeceased by his father in 1979; by his mother in 1998; by two brothers, Kenneth Swormstedt and Michael Swormstedt and by a sister, Shelley Morel. 

      There will be no calling hours.

      A private funeral service will be held.

      Spring burial will be in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, N.H.

      Memorial Donations may be to the Morel Children's Fund c/o New Covenant Christian Church, 31 Lindsay Court, Laconia, N.H. 03246.
