Laconia-----Emily Banfill, 90, formerly of 25 Union Avenue, Laconia, died at the Golden View Health Care Center, Meredith on Monday, December 29, 2008.

Mrs. Banfill was the widow of Bert Banfill who died in 1996.

Mrs. Banfill was born January 25, 1918 in Grafton, N. H., the daughter of Michael and Hazel (Hunt) Mahoney. She had been a resident in Franklin for many years before moving to Belmont and later Laconia. She was employed at the New Hampshire Veterans Home for five years before retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Evangelical Baptist Church of Laconia.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Moritz, of Baltimore, Maryland; two granddaughters, Danielle Moritz and Lindsey Moritz, and a grandson, Michael Moritz. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Banfill was predeceased by a daughter, Evelyn Gray.

There will be no calling hours.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2009 at 11:00AM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

Spring burial will be in the family lot in South Road Cemetery, Belmont, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Evangelical Baptist Church of Laconia, Missions Fund, 12 Veterans Square, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
