Gilford, NH-----Lorraine “Laurie” H. Davidson, 74, of 9 Sargent Place died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Friday, December 19, 2008.

Mrs. Davidson was born June 25, 1934 in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Peter H. and Helen B. (McLeavy) Verzone. She lived in West Springfield, Mass. for many years before moving to Gilford seven years ago.

Mrs. Davidson graduated from Framingham State and was an elementary school teacher for thirty-two years. She was employed by the Ludlow, Mass. Schools, retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Framingham Alumni Association and the Retired Mass. State Employees Assoc.

Mrs. Davidson was a member of the United Baptist Church of Lakeport

Mrs. Davidson is survived by her husband of 53 years, James Scott Davidson, Sr. of Gilford; a son, J. Scott Davidson, Jr. and his wife Joan of Monson, Mass.; a daughter, Robyn Lynne Davidson Dunlap and her husband James of Laconia; two granddaughters; Trisha Trefrey and Sam Trefrey both of Laconia; 2 brothers; Richard H. Verzone and his wife Sheila of NH and Fla. and Ronald D. Verzone and his wife Barbara of NH and Texas; four nephews, Richard H. Verzone, Jeffrey L. Verzone, Craig Verzone and Fredrick Corcoran; two nieces, Dawn McDonald and Maura Price.

There are no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H. on Friday January 2, 2009 at 1:00 PM. The Rev. Sharron Lamothe, pastor of the United Baptist Church of Lakeport will officiate.

Spring burial will be in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Baptist Church 35 Park Street, Lakeport NH 03246.
