Laconia-Eva Elizabeth Gauthier, 103, formerly of 85 Messer Street died at Wolfeboro Bay Care and Rehabilitation Center on Friday morning, August 28, 2009.

Eva was born October 31, 1095 in Lancaster, New Hampshire the daughter of the late Beriah and Bessie (Flynn) Wright. She had been a resident of Laconia for over 70 years coming from St. Johnsbury, Vermont.

Prior to her retirement in 1966 Eva was employed at the former F. W. Woolworth Co. on Main Street in Laconia as a sale clerk. She had also worked at the former Crystal Café as a waitress, and at the former Landau’s Department Store as a clerk. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, and a member of the Hannah Francis Rebekah Lodge, No. 41 in Lakeport.

Eva is predeceased by her husband Richard L. Gauthier who died in 1972, and her son Richard A. Welcome in 1955.

Eva is survived by her daughter Sandra A. Beauchemin and her husband Robert of Laconia; her grandchildren, Mark Beauchemin and his wife Ann Marie of Meredith, John Bridegam and his wife Cheryl of Reading, Pennsylvania, Richard B. Brough of Dunbarton, New Hampshire, and Danny J. Brough of Laconia; her great-grandson, Alec Beauchemin of Meredith; her great-granddaughters, Carrie and Heather Bridegam of Reading, Pennsylvania. Additionally Eva is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A calling hour will be on Monday, August 31, 2009 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the family lot at St. Lambert Cemetery, Province Street, Laconia, NH.

For those who wish, the family suggests expressions of sympathy in Eva’s name may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
