Normand Ralph Lachance

Laconia----Normand Ralph Lachance, 67, of 124 Winter Street, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving wife Irene, his children and grandchildren on Tuesday evening, August 11, 2009.

Norm was born January 19, 1942 in Laconia the son of the late Ralph and Rachel (Nadeau) Lachance. A lifelong resident, he was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School class of 1960, and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.

Prior to his retirement Norm was Vice President in charge of manufacturing at Baron Machine Company, Inc. of Laconia, Eptam Plastics, Inc. of Northfield, and most recently Jorgensen Tool & Stamping, Inc. of Belmont.

Norm took great pride in his family. His most cherished times were spent with his tight knit family; birthdays, holidays, and any chance to get together meant a lot to him. A quiet generous man, he always enjoyed helping others.

Norm is survived by his wife Irene (Beaudoin) Lachance of Laconia; a son, Robert Lachance and his wife Shelli of Gilford; two daughters, Michelle Crumb and her husband Clint of Laconia, and Susan Kearney and her husband Peter of Laconia; nine grandchildren, Jessica, Kristen, and Sean Lachance, Jamie and Casey Crumb, Sophia and P.J. Kearney, and Christopher, and Steven Hickey.

The family of Norm would like to extend a special thank you to Heidi Loring and all the staff of Community Health & Hospice for their care and support during Norm’s illness.

Calling hours were held on Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Marc Drouin, pastor, as celebrant. Burial followed in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia, NH.

The family of Norm would like to thank our many friends, family, and co-workers for their kindness and generous expressions of food, flowers, cards, and prayers. It is a true blessing at this difficult time to be remembered by so many wonderful people. We would also like to extend our deepest appreciation to Dr. Milchev, the offices of Cardiac Assoicates of N.H., Lakes Region Pulmonary, and Community Health & Hospice for their wonderful care throughout the years; the doctors, nurses, and office staff became like family to Norm. We take great comfort in the wonderful memories we have of our husband, dad, grandfather, and know he is now at peace and watching over us.
