Stephen R. Houle

Moultonboro----Stephen R. Houle, 55, of 37 Orchard Drive, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Sunday, August 24, 2008. 

Mr.  Houle was born September 30, 1952 in Tonawanda,  New York, the son of  George A. and Ann P. (Carter) Houle.

Mr.  Houle was raised in Wilmington, Delaware.  He was a graduate of Tatnall High School in Wilmington and also graduated from the University of New Hampshire, Durham in 1975. He was a resident of the Lakes Region for the last thirty years and was employed as the Food and Beverage Director at the Margate Resort.

Mr. Houle was a benevolent benefactor and supporter of  U. N.H. Wildcat Hockey and a member of  Friends of  U.N. H. Hockey.  He was a coach for the Lou Athanas Basketball League and was a Hospice volunteer.

Mr. Houle was an avid gardener and loved golf, the Boston Red Sox and woodworking.  His generosity was apparent to all who knew him and was helpful to friends and family alike.

Survivors include his wife, Marcia (Baron) Houle, of Laconia; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Jason Lafferty, of West Warwick. R.I.;two sons, Kyle Perry, of  Berkeley, Calif. and Brian Perry and Jacquelyn Bonacorsi of Methuen, Mass.; three step grandchildren, Aidan Lafferty, Carolyn Lafferty and Elliot Perry;  numerous friends and his beloved chocolate lab , Jeb.  He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday,  August 26, 2008 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday,  August 27, 2008 at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, N.H. by Rev. Adrien Longchamps, Pastor of the Church.

Following the Mass, a luncheon will be held at the Christmas Island Steak  House, Weirs Blvd., Laconia, N.H.

Whittemore’s Flower Shop (603-524-5420) will handle floral arrangements.  Memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity Lakes Region, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia, N.H. 03246.
