Madeline E. Walker

Gilford-----Madeline E. Walker, 86, formerly of 25 Ridgewood Avenue died at Forestview Manor, Meredith on Thursday, August 23, 2007.

Mrs. Walker was born February 27, 1921 in Lakeport, N. H., the daughter of John F. Crocket Huston and Gladys M. (Smith) Huston.

Mrs. Walker was raised in the Lakes Region and was a graduate of Laconia High School.  She was a longtime resident of the Lakes Region.  She lived on South Road in Belmont for thirty-three years before moving to Bristol.  In 2001 she moved to Gilford.

Mrs. Walker enjoyed her pets, crafts, planting, gardening, flowers and painting.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-seven years, Lawrence H. Walker, of Meredith; two sons, John A. Walker and his wife, Annette, of Missoula, Montana and Douglas A. Walker and his wife, Cheryl, of Portales, New Mexico; two daughters, Ann E. Walker of Boscawen and Dawn E. Mooney and her husband, James, of Belmont; three grandchildren; three nieces; one nephew and her cat, Suzie.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walker was predeceased by a brother, Fred Willis Huston.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at 11:00AM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.  Rev. Dr. Victoria Wood Parrish, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, N. H. 03247.
