Laconia-----Violet P. Morse, 90, of Laconia died Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at the Lakes Region General Hospital surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

         Violet was born May 21, 1917 in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Althea and Harry Ivany.  Violet had lived in the Lakes Region for 50 years coming from Saugus, Mass. 

Violet graduated from East Boston High School in 1934.  She was employed at Barney’s ice Cream for 20 years as a bookkeeper. 

Violet was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church of Gilford, N. H. and directed the Methodist Youth Group for many years.  She was an active 4-H leader and Cub Scout leader.

Violet enjoyed knitting, sewing, quilting, playing cards and cribbage.  She was devoted to her family and friends and always brought a loaf of home made bread to you when she came calling.

         Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William and Diane Morse of Bradenton, Florida; a daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Stephen Sullivan of Nashua, N. H.; a daughter, Nancy Fields, of Laconia, N.H.; 10 grandchildren, Todd Sullivan, Susan Ouellette, Chris Sullivan, Katie Ladd, Eli Morse, Jared Morse, Lindsey Hagan, Kelsey Morse, Richard Fields and Douglas Fields and 9 great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Elisha Morse, and three sisters, Gladys Park, Jessie Pappas and Florence Takach.

         A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 1:00PM at the First United Methodist Church, Gilford Avenue, Gilford, NH.

 A private burial will take place in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, N. H.

                   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, PO Box 7408, Gilford, N.H. 03247.

         Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
