Natalie H. Davis

Gilford-----Natalie H. Davis, 91, of 109 Gunstock Hill Road, died at the Goldenview Healthcare Center, Meredith on Friday, August 10, 2007.

         Mrs. Davis was born August 7, 1916 in Laconia, NH, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes (Bradley) Haddock.

Mrs. Davis was a lifelong resident of the Lakes Region.  She graduated from Laconia High School in 1934 and was awarded the Merit Cup.  In 1937, she graduated from Keene Teacher’s College (now Keene State) and graduated from Boston University in 1978 with her Master’s Degree in Education.  She received many Education Title 1 Grants.

Mrs. Davis was an elementary school teacher for forty-two years teaching in Gilford, Laconia and Canterbury schools.  She retired in 1982.  She was a Girl Scout leader, a member of the Gilford High School Building Committee and a member of the Gilford Players.

Mrs. Davis was a member of the NEA, Delta Kappa Gamma (Educational Honor Society) and the N. H. Retired Teachers’ Association.  She was an avid reader and bird watcher and enjoyed gardening and swimming.  She was a fan of the Red Sox and U.N.H. Hockey.

Survivors include her husband of  sixty-five years, Edward C. Davis, of Gilford, NH; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven J. and Ginger Davis, of Londonderry, NH; a daughter, Janet D. Allison, of Wilmington, MA; three grandchildren, Thomas E. Allison and his wife, Susan Spirlet-Allison, of Westport, MA, Scott C. Davis and his wife, Anne, of Haverhill, NH, and Janet H. Damaske and her husband, John, of Brighton, MA; a great granddaughter, Heidi G. Davis, of Haverhill, NH and several nephews and nieces.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, James Haddock, Lawrence Haddock and Bradley Haddock.  

Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 13, 2007 from 5:00-7:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at 11:00AM at the Gilford Community Church, Potter Hill Road, Gilford, NH.

Family burial will be in the family lot at Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 7312, Gilford, NH 03247-7312.
