Carolyn Foster Knowles

Lake Ronkonkoma, New York-----Carolyn Foster Knowles, 71, of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, died August 16, 2007 at Speare Memorial Hospital, in Plymouth, New Hampshire, after a long illness.

Carolyn was born on February 15, 1936, in Fort Fairfield, Maine, the daughter of Walter and Florence (Kipp) Foster.  She married Harold Knowles and in 1960 they relocated their family to Long Island, NY.

She is predeceased by her husband, Harold Grant Knowles, who died in June of 1994, and her son, Kirk Lee Knowles, who died in August of 2000.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn Scalzo Babin, and son-in-law, Roger O. Babin, of Campton, NH; a son, Harold Grant Knowles, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Carol Knowles, of Patchogue, NY; a daughter, Karen Wilkerson, and son-in-law, David Wilkerson, of Wendell, NC;  9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a brother, Keith Foster, of Bristol, TN; a brother, Kipp Foster, of Fort Fairfield, ME; a brother, Walter Foster, Jr., of Holly Springs, NC and many devoted nieces and nephews.

Services for Mrs. Knowles will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2007 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Fort Fairfield, Maine.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.  Rev. Robert Smith will officiate.
