Juozas "Joe" Teichert

Laconia, NH — Juozas “Joe” Teichert, (68) of Bowman Street, died at Lakes Region General Hospital, August 12, 2005 after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Teichert was born in Mischeiken, Lithuania on May 7, 1937. His family settled in the Rheinland Pfalz area of Germany -- as a boy he schooled throughout the country and later in Italy. In 1955 he immigrated to the United States eventually settling in Connecticut. He met his wife in Oakville, CT and together they raised four children. The family vacationed often in the Lakes Region and by fortunate circumstance his career allowed him to move his family permanently to Laconia in 1978.

Survivors include: his wife of nearly 46 years, Patricia (Bauba) of Laconia; son Joseph Teichert also of Laconia, and his wife Judee. Daughter Mary Belfontaine of Belmont, NH, and her partner James Bolduc. Son John Teichert of Los Angeles, CA. Daughter Diana Mattes of Aliso Viejo, CA, and her husband Arwid. His grandchildren are Timothy Wood, Gregory Wood, Jonathan Belfontaine, Justin Belfontaine, Samuel Wood, Bethany Teichert, Abigail Teichert, Alexander Mattes and one great-grandchild Noah Belfontaine. His brothers Siegmund, Ewald, Adolf, Peter, his sister Ona, as well as many nieces and nephews in Connecticut and Germany. Joe was predeceased by his parents Otto and Maria, and his brother Johann.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2005 from 10-11am, followed by a brief service in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH
