Alice Louise Swain

Meredith Center-----Alice Louise Swain, 94, of Meredith Center died on August 27, 2005 following a brief illness.

Louise or “Micki”, as she was called by her family and friends, was born on May 18, 1911 in Hopkinton, NH, the daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Clark) Wunderlich. She lived for over 50 years in Meredith Center and retired from the former Laconia State School as a caregiver and kitchen worker. Louise was known for her baked beans, fudge, donuts and crabapple jelly. She loved hunting and fishing and always knew where the fish were biting. She was an avid gardener and also loved to knit and crochet as many family and friends have mittens, gloves or afghans that she created.

Louise is survived by her son, Eldon L. Byers, her grandchildren, Mark Byers, Beth Byers, George and Forrest Dockham, all of New Hampshire and Brenda Nylette of Florida; her brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Marty Wunderlich of Florida; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her dog and constant companion, Burt. She was predeceased by her daughter, Joanne Martell, her sister, Ann Weeks and brothers, Frank and James Wunderlich.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at the Meredith Center Church, Meredith Center, Road on Saturday, September 10, 2005 at 4:00PM.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the family lot at the Contoocook Cemetery in Contooccok, NH.

In lieu of flowers, in honor of Louise’s love for animals, please make donations in her memory to the New Hampshire Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, NH 03247.
