Alice P. Moores

Laconia--------Alice P. Moores, 84, of 227 Ledges Drive, Taylor Community, and formerly of 1090 N. Main Street, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Thursday, April 1, 2010. Mrs. Moores was the widow of Charles “Andy” A. Moores, Jr. who died in 2003.
Mrs. Moores was born February 25, 1926 in Springfield, Vermont, the daughter of Ralph H. and Margaret (Armstrong) Parsons. She was a 1947 graduate of Simmons College in Boston. After living in Rocky Hill, Conn. for 28 years and serving as Administrative Secretary for the local school system, she moved to Laconia in 1976. She was a bookkeeper for the Laconia School District, SAU 30, for fifteen years and was also employed at the Lakes Region General Hospital for over 10 years.
Mrs. Moores was a former member of the Congregational Church in Rocky Hill, Connecticut.
Survivors include six children, Philip M. Johnson of Charlton, MA. Jennifer Foote of East Hartford, CT., Carla Johnson-Chaney of High Point, NC, Charles A. Moores III of East Hartland, CT., Elizabeth Koley of Glastonbury, CT, and Christopher W. Moores, of Burlington, CT., five grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and very special friend Marena Schultz of Laconia.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 1:00pm in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, N.H.
