Dorothy "Ellie" E. Coffey

LACONIA – Dorothy “Ellie” E. Coffey died April 17, 2010 at Lakes Region General Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Chelsea, MA on February 19, 1925 to John F. Bernard & Julia Bernard (Gaudet) and was the last of 8 children.
Ellie was a homemaker for many years and in later years received her LNA certification from NH Community College in Laconia. She worked at the Tilton Soldier’s home as well as the Lakes Region Community Health Agency and loved helping people. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and was very active with the Altar & Rosary Society as well as the Choir. She served on the Lakes Region Mental Health Board, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Elderly Friendship Club.
Members of her family include a son, daughter-in-law, grandson, his wife, and a great grandson. Her husband, a veteran of both WWII and Korea passed away in 1977. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held celebrated on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph’s Parish in Belmont, NH . In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Church, PO Box 285, Belmont, NH 03220, care of Father Albert.
