Ruth E. Bruton

Laconia-----Ruth E. Bruton, 93, of 4 Kinsman Drive, Laconia died on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Ledgeview, Taylor Community.
Ruth was born March 26, 1917 in Dayville, Connecticut, the daughter of Arthur F. and Ruth (Harvey) Bruton. She graduated from Killingley High School, Danielson, Conn. in 1934 and graduated cum laude in 1938 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Pembroke College in Brown University.
Ruth had been employed by Brown, Lisle & Marshall in Providence, R. I from 1939-1945 and from 1972-1979. From 1945-1967, she served overseas in the Foreign Service of the U. S. Department of State in Rabat, Beirut, Amberg, Bavaria; Dusseldorf, London, Montreal, Palermo and Paris.
Ruth was a member of the Laconia Congregational Church and the Mary Butler Chapter DAR and previously was a member of the R. I. Independence Chapter DAR in Cranston, R. I.
Ruth was predeceased by her parents and by a sister, Bertha F. Bruton Plaziak.
According to her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
Burial will be in the family lot in Union Cemetery, North Smithfield, Rhode Island.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Laconia Congregational Church, Dorcas Fund, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia, N. H. 03246 or to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
