June A. (Fielders) Champagne

Gilford-----June A. (Fielders) Champagne, 89, of 113 Country Club Road, died at her home on Saturday, April 18, 2009. Mrs. Champagne was the widow of Arthur “Champ” Champagne who died in 1985.

Mrs. Champagne was born April 1, 1920 in Laconia, N.H., the daughter of Leon M. and Mildred (Rugg) Fielders.

Mrs. Champagne lived all of her life in the Lakes Region before moving to Seminole, Florida where she lived for ten years. Mrs. Champagne returned to Gilford four years ago. She was a self-employed seamstress and was owner of the Golden Nimble.

Mrs. Champagne was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church, Lakeport. She enjoyed walking.

Mrs. Champagne is survived by a son, Roger M. Ladd, of Gilford; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Champagne was predeceased by a son, Wayne S. Ladd, in 1991; by a daughter, Gloria Decker, in 1997 and by a brother and sister, Richard Fielders and Josephine Wing.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 from 6:00-8:00PM using the Whipple Avenue entrance of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 10:00AM at the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia, N. H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American
Cancer Society-NE Division, 2 Commerce Drive, Suite 110, Bedford, NH 03110.

Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H. is in charge of the arrangements.
