Gilmanton-----Arlene Hoyt Barnett, 86, of 1284 Province Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Friday, April 24, 2009.

Mrs. Barnett was the widow of Robert J. Barnett who died June 24, 1984.

Mrs. Barnett was born April 1, 1923 in Laconia, N. H., the daughter of John B. and Cecelia M. (Perron) Hoyt.

Mrs. Barnett lived in Pittsfield for thirty-eight years before moving to Gilmanton twenty-five years ago to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Louise A. and Mark A. Sawyer. She was employed at Globe Manufacturing for twenty-five years.

Mrs. Barnett was the church organist at the Barnstead Parade Congregational Church for forty-five years.

Mrs. Barnett is survived by a son, Robert J. Barnett, Jr., two daughters, Louise A. Sawyer and Sally A. Hill; three grandchildren, Robyn Ross, Lynn Paige and Leon Hill; seven great grandchildren; R. J. Pauley, Allyson Paige, Delaney, Sydney and Atlanta Ross, Leon Hill, Jr. and Elizabeth Hill; a sister, Annette Bragdon and one nephew. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Barnett was predeceased by her parents.

There will be no calling hours.

A private graveside service will be held at the family lot in Floral Park Cemetery, Pittsfield, N. H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gilmanton Fire Rescue, PO Box 128, G. I. W., NH 03837.
