Nina B. Heald

Laconia-----Nina B. Heald, 92, of 21 Ledges Drive, Taylor Community and formerly of 11 Taylor Home Drive, died at her home on Saturday, April 21, 2007.

Mrs. Heald was born February 13, 1915 in Franconia, NH, the daughter of Earle A. and Vera (Stanley) Brooks.  The family moved to Laconia in 1918 where she attended Laconia schools, graduating from Laconia High School as Salutatorian in 1933.

Mrs. Heald worked as a stenographer for the Civil Works Administration in Concord and for Palmer Simpson Wholesale Grocery Co. in Laconia.  She married Richard Heald in 1936 and they were married for sixty-two years when he died in 1998.  They lived in Rutland, Vermont, Laconia, NH, Montpelier, Vermont and then in Wellesley Hills, Mass. for twenty-four years, retiring to Laconia in 1967.

Mrs. Heald was a member of the Laconia Congregational Church, a former member of the Eastern Star in Wellesley and the Lakeview Golf Club in Belmont.

Mrs. Heald was a descendant of Luke Brooks, one of the discoverers of The Old Man of the Mountain.

Mrs. Heald is survived by two daughters, Kathryn H. Vercoe and her husband, Ray, of Laconia and Barbara H. Papagian of Manchester; four grandsons, Sean Wilson of Bushkill, Pennsylvania, Eric Papagian of Bedford, NH, Ted Papagian of Manchester, NH and Timothy Vercoe of Bath, Maine; one granddaughter, Janice Sezgin of Chester, NH; six great grandchildren, Kaleigh, Ellie and Shannon Wilson, Owen and Ava Sezgin and JohnathanVercoe; three brothers, Earle Brooks and his wife, Jean, of Bennington, Vermont, Robert Brooks of Middlebury, Vermont and Richard Brooks and his wife, Betty, of Goffstown, NH;  several nephews and nieces.  In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Erma B. Lyman of Laconia and Mary B. Saunders of Penacook, NH and a son-in-law, John Papagian, of Manchester.

There will be no calling hours.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at 11:00AM at the Laconia Congregational Church, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia, N.H. The Rev. Dr. Warren H. Bouton, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.

Burial will be in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, N. H.
