Mary L. Haven

Laconia-----Mary L. Haven, 94, formerly of Old Lake Shore Road, Woodsmoke Meadows, Gilford, died at the Belknap County Nursing Home on Sunday, April 8, 2007.  Mrs. Haven was the widow of Richard W. Haven who died in 1993.

Mrs. Haven was born August 22, 1912 in Laconia, NH, the daughter of Arthur H. and Mandah H. (Brownlow) Lord.  She was a lifelong resident of the Laconia/Gilford area.  She was a nurse’s aide for twenty-one years and was employed at the Gove’s Nursing Home and the Taylor Home.  She retired in 1982.

Mrs. Haven had been a member of the Evangelical Baptist Church of Laconia for seventy-five years.

Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Haven and John C. Haven, both of Laconia; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Everett L. Lord and Charles Lord and by two sisters, Edna A. Day and Emily Watson who died February 21, 2007.

There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside Service will be held later in the spring at the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, NH.   

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Evangelical Baptist Missions Fund, 12 Veterans Square, Laconia, NH 03246.
