Robert J. Aldrich

Gilford----Robert J. Aldrich, 62, of 2393 Lakeshore Road #6 died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Thursday, April 12, 2007.

Mr. Aldrich was born July 8, 1944 in Laconia, NH, the son of Robert E. and Rachel G. (Roberts) Aldrich.

Mr. Aldrich was a life long resident of the Laconia/Gilford area.  He attended local schools and graduated from Laconia High School in 1962.

In 1964, he graduated from Burdett College in Boston.  Following graduation, he was employed at the Laconia Peoples National Bank and later he and his father, Bob Aldrich, opened the Montgomery Ward Catalog Store in Laconia.  For the past thirty-five years, he had been a realtor and appraiser with his father at Aldrich Real Estate.

Mr. Aldrich was a former member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks, the Laconia J.C.’s and a member of the New Hampshire Real Estate and Appraisers Association.

Survivors include his wife of forty-three years, Sandra (Michaud) Aldrich, of Gilford; two sons, Michael Robert Aldrich of Fitchburg, Massachusetts and  Marc James Aldrich of Manchester, NH; a daughter, Michelle Aldrich Rossetto, of Bradford, MA; two grandchildren, Madeline Rachel Aldrich and Quinn Michael Aldrich both of Fitchburg, MA; his mother, Rachel G. (Roberts) Aldrich, of Laconia, NH; a sister, Roberta A. Croteau and her husband, “Joe”, of Loudon and two nieces, Susan and Sandra.  He was predeceased by his father, Robert E. Aldrich, in 2004.

According to Mr. Aldrich’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Lakeport, NH on Monday, April 23, 2007 at 11:00AM.

Burial will be at a later date in the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, NH 03247 or to the St. Francis Healthcare Center, Activities Fund, 406 Court Street, Laconia, NH. 03246.
