John F. Zvacs

Gilmanton----John F. Zvacs, 89, of 101 Sawtooth Road, died at the Franklin Regional Hospital, Franklin on Sunday, April 1, 2007.

Mr. Zvacs was born May 4, 1917 in Gilmanton, NH, the son of Paula (Zilichovsky) and Joseph Zvacs.

Mr. Zvacs was lifetime resident of Gilmanton and graduated from Laconia High School in 1935.  He was employed as an inspector for Scott & Williams for many years.  Following a period of retirement, he went to work for the U. S. Forestry Service in Laconia for fifteen years, retiring at the age of 80.

Mr. Zvacs was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Laconia.

 Survivors include a nephew, Donald McCann, and his wife, Beverly, of Carmel, New York; two nieces, Pauline Zvacs Fletcher and her husband, Earl, of Franklin, New Hampshire and Catherine Smith and her husband, Herbert, of Yonkers, New York and seven grandnieces and grandnephews, Kathryn Smith, Susan Joiner, Christine Trevail, Andrew McCann, Michelle McCann, Charlene Moreno and Earl Fletcher III.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Zvacs, Jr., a sister, Bertha Zvacs McCann and by an aunt, Bertha Ellsworth.

 Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 9, 2007 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia by Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the Church.

Burial will be later this Spring in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, NH

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may made to St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
