John T. Bacon

Gilmanton Iron Works---John T. Bacon, 80, of 29 Pine Circle, died at his home on Wednesday, April 12, 2006.

Mr. Bacon was born October 26, 1925 in Providence, RI the son of Howard and Angelica (Lamoreaux) Bacon. He was a graduate of Moses Brown School in Providence, RI and attended Nichols Jr. College, Dudley, MA, Brown University, Providence, R. I. and Norwich University, Northfield VT.

Mr. Bacon served in the U. S. Army, 95th Division, under General Patten, during WWII. He was employed as a foreign loan officer at the First National Bank of Boston in Brazil and in England for several years, retiring in 1986. Following his retirement, he moved back to Crystal Lake, Gilmanton Iron Works, NH where his family had summered for many years.

Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Howard & Shirley Bacon, of Laconia; two nephews, H. Newell Bacon and David W. Bacon; a niece, Janet Garrison and several grandnephews and grandnieces.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gilmanton Iron Works Library, P.O.Box 299 Gilmanton Iron Works, NH 03837.
