Gale Dean Kratzer

Laconia-----Gale Dean Kratzer, 63, of 43 Addison Street, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Saturday April 30, 2005 after a two-year courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Kratzer was born May 11, 1941 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Stanley L. and Norma L. (Weik) Kratzer.

Mr. Kratzer served in the U. S. Navy for 22 years. Hewas stationed in Great Lakes, Illinois for several years until moving to Laconia twenty-six years ago. He was a medical technician for thirty- seven years retiring in March of 2002 from the Catholic Medical Center.

Mr. Kratzer was a member of the American Legion Wilkins-Smith Post # 1 and was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association. He was also a member of the Laconia Sachems Booster Club, the Opechee Park Club and the N.H. Central Corvair Assoc.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years Patricia (Bordeau) Kratzer, of Laconia; two sons, Dean R. Kratzer, of Nashua and Eric S. Kratzer of Los Angeles, CA; a daughter, Gayle Robin Kratzer, of Laconia; two brothers, Stanley Kratzer, and Dennis Kratzer, both of Canton, Ohio; two sisters, Sharon Kay Yarnell and Renee Louise Griffith both of Canton Ohio; six nieces and five nephews; special friends, Abby and Trevor Colby of Belmont and Max and Meredyth McCullough of Laconia.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 4, 2005 from 7-9PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at 11:00AM. Rev. Adrien Longchamps, Pastor of the Church, will celebrate.

Burial will be held at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen Friday May 6, 2005 at 10:00AM.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Corvair Preservation Foundation PO Box 607, Lemont, Ill. 60439 or the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 State Rte Suite 501 Bedford, NH 03110-5032.
