Warren J. Hawkins

Laconia-----Warren J. Hawkins, 47, of Charles Street went to the Lord on Monday, April 11, 2005 after bravely fighting a ten week battle with lung cancer.

Mr. Hawkins was born November 30, 1957 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He was educated at St. Rafael Academy and Holy Trinity School where he graduated in 1975, and then immediately enlisted in the Army where he served with both the 4th and 7th Engineering Battalions as well as the 8th Infantry Division. His distinguished service included two tours of duty in Germany before being honorably discharged in 1984.

Mr. Hawkins had been a resident of the Lakes Region since 1993. He was employed by Vutek Inc., of Meredith in their test department, troubleshooting digital printers. He thoroughly enjoyed his work at Vutek and was well respected by his fellow employees.

Mr. Hawkins was a loving son and brother, but most of all, he was very dedicated to his children whom he loved dearly. He enjoyed gardening, camping and taking road trips. He was an avid sports fan, particularly of football, baseball and bowling. He was a member in good standing of the American Legion Post #l in Alton, NH for the last eleven years.

Mr. Hawkins is survived by his children, Katryna Marie Hawkins and Eric Warren Hawkins as well as their mother, Jill (Landry) Boisvert of Hill, NH. He is also survived by his mother, Marie (Dargy) Hawkins of Central Falls, RI; two sisters, Diane (Hawkins) LeDoux of Warwick, RI and Joanne (Hawkins) Barboza of Pawtucket, RI; one niece; three nephews and several dear, life long friends.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated.

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2005 from 7:00-9:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 15, 2005 at 10:30AM at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH. Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the Church, will celebrate.

Burial will follow at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.

Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
